Mount Popa

Do  you  love  being in  different hill  stations? Then you  are sure to love to  visit some of the well  known hill  station  during  your  trip  to  Myanmar. There are  a number of  hilly  areas  in Myanmar which are very popular  among the  tourists  fro  their natural  beauty.  Among the hill stations of the Myanmar Mount Popa is one of the most well known names.  Thousands of tourists every year visit this beautiful mountain. 

Mount Popa is a mountain located in the central part of Myanmar.  It is a well known mountain situated in the east of Bagan.  It is a well known volcano in the region. However this volcano is believed to be extinct. The mountain is situated approximately 50 Km east to Bagan.  When the weather is clear you can see this mountain from sixty km away.  If you are visiting river Ayeyarwady then you may see this mountain clearly on fine weather days. The volcano is  some 1518 Km above the  sea level.   

If  you  want  to explore  more you  can go  to the southwest side of  Mount Popa  where  the pedestal  hill  or  Taung Kalat is situated.  It is a 737 meter precipice of volcanic plug. A  Buddhist monastery is   situated at the summit of the pedestal hill.  According to history hermit   U Khandi maintained the 777 steps to the summit of the pedestal hill.  Sometimes it is also referred to as Mount Popa.  But to avoid  the  confusion  the  volcano  that  has a  huge  crater is called Taung Ma-Gyi or the  mother  hill. From the pedestal hill you can get a panoramic view too.   therefore  you  must  pay a  trip to the  beautiful mountain  area during  your trip to  Myanmar.

Trip to Mandalay Hill

Mandalay Hill is one of the most well known tourist destination in Myanmar. If you are planning to visit Myanmar in near future then make sure that you have included a trip to Mandalay Hill in your itinerary. It is a beautiful hill situated near the city of Mandalay in Myanmar. The hill is well known for its panoramic beauty. The hill has also earned a reputation for religious reasons. The hill is home to a number of well known Buddhist temples and pagodas. Hence, the people in Myanmar who follow Buddhism consider this hill as a pilgrim site. Every year thousands of devotees visit this amazing place. The place has also became quite popular among the tourists. You are sure to have a great time during your visit to Mandalay Hill.

At the top of the hill you will find the famous Sutaungpyei Pagoda which is very popular among the Buddhists in Myanmar. The literal meaning of Sutaungpyei Pagoda is wish fulfilling pagoda. This pagoda has four covered staircases. These staircases are known as Saungdan. There are also convenient seats are also there in the stairs. If you can climb up to the top you will be surprised to see the panoramic view of the city from there. If you are unable to climb all the way you can take a oneway motor road and reach the top. At the southern or the main approach at the foot of the hill you will see two gigantic chinthes or leogryphs ehichare nothing but stylized lion figures. These figures are popularly known as Chinthe hnakaung atet.

As you climb up the stairs you will see a number of other religious sites. The most important of all of them is the hermit U Khanti's dazaung. In this hall three fragments of the Bones of Gautama Buddha were kept. There are also a number of Buddha statues , markets and many more on the way to the top. This is truly an experience to remember.

Mandalay Hill

Wildlife in Hlawaga National Park

If you are fond of nature and wildlife then you are sure to love to visit any of the national parks in Myanmar. There are a number of national parks in Myanmar where you can have a great time alone or with family and friends. Thousands of tourists who have visited the national parks in Myanmar have rated the national parks very highly. The Hlawaga National Park is one of the most well know national parks in Myanmar. The national park is situated in Mingaladon in the Yangon Division of the national park. You can visit this amazing national park and near the call of the wild.

Hlawaga National Park is a large national park that can be divided into several areas. The areas include a wildlife park as well as a mini zoo. There is also a buffer zone that is often utilized as a picnic area. You can have loads of fun in this national park during your trip to Myanmar.
The wildlife park area of the Hlawaga National Park amounts to 818 acres. This part of the national park is home to animals of different species shape and size. In this national park you will find a number of deer species. The deer species include eld’s deer, hog deer, barking deer as well as sambar deer. You can also find some other exotic animals in this wildlife park of Hlawaga National Park. These animals are rhesus monkey, pythons and pangolin. According to different survey the park was home to 21 species of mammals, 145 species of birds as well as 8 species of reptiles.

The evergreen forest of Hlawaga National Park contains near about three hundred species of plants. Common species include Dipterocarps as well as langerstroemia speciosa. Hlawaga National Park

 Hlawaga National Park is a national park that is located in Mingaladon in Yangon Division in Myanmar.  This national park is situated at a distance of 22 miles north of Yangon. The total area of this national park is 1540-acres or 623-hectare. This beautiful national park includes a wildlife park that covers 818 acres of area.  There is  also  a  mini zoo  where  the  kids can  have  a great time  seeing the  animals.  The area of the zoo is just 612 acres. There is also 660 acres of buffer zone in this national park.

The Hlawaga National Park   is well known for its rich variety of flora and fauna. There are numerous trees, creepers and climbers of different types. There   are fruit bearing plants flowering plants and medicinal plants as well.

The beautiful national park was established in the year 1982. At that time it was built as an environmental education center.  The national park has become a popular destination for the day trips.  If you love ecological tours you are definitely going to love it.

People's Park

If  you  are planning to  visit  Myanmar  in  near  future then you  should start  planning  your  itinerary  from now. There are a number of  places  of interest  in this  beautiful south  east  Asian  country that  it is easy for you to  miss  out  a  lot  of  important tourist  destination.   If  you  do  not  have  a  proper  plan  for  visiting  each of  them you may end  up  seeing only a small  number of tourist  attractions.  Whether you are fond of natural beauty or you love to visit the historical destinations you are sure to find some interesting destinations in Myanmar.

When in Yangon in Myanmar you should pay a visit to the  beautiful  People's Square and Park. People's Square and Park is one of the chief parks that surround the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar. This beautiful park is  situated  at the west of the great pagoda to the former Pyithu Hluttaw complex. This park is surrounded by Pyay Road to its west, U Wisara Road to the east, Dhammazedi Road to the north as well as Ahlone Road to the south.

Almost half of the complex is the 70.3-acre People's Square. There is a tree lined marble esplanade starting from Pyithu Hluttaw towards the Shwedagon Pagoda is the center piece of the square. Over a thousand trees and plants from 52 species make up the square. Pyidaungsu Ayeyeik Nyein occupies a corner of the Square and holds a permanent exhibition of dioramas of various Burmese ethnic groups, specimens of valuable timber and gemstones from various parts of the country.

 

People's Park occupies 65.42 acres next to the square in the north. Over 3,000 plants together with seventy two species of trees, twelve species of bamboo and fifty species of shrubs and climbers native to various parts of the country are planted in the park. Botanical mazes, flower show, fruit trees and even medicinal herbs account for an additional seventeen thousand flowering plants.
